Newt Gingrich "But why should somebody who makes their living by being a hero to young people get away with using drugs? And once they are proven they use drugs, why shouldn't they have an obligation to turn the drug dealer? They know somebody who is committing a felony."(1 ). Newt admitted to past drug use(2 ). Did he turn in all of his former connections? You have to wonder if he was high when he became a drug warrior extraordinaire.

President Barack Obama admitted he smoked marijuana and used some cocaine when he was in high school and college(3 ).

In his first race for president Bill Clinton became the third presidential candidate who had tried marijuana. He said "When I was in England I experimented with marijuana a time or two and didn't like it. I didn't inhale and I didn't try again." The others were former Arizona governor Bruce Babbitt and then US Senator (and soon to be VP) Al Gore of Tennessee. A question is, did Al and Bruce had enough sense to inhale(4 )?

Former President GW Bush has admitted to "youthful indiscretions". such as cocaine use(5 ).

How many have done it we will never know. How many are still doing it, again we will never know. Georgia had a law that every candidate for statewide office had to have a drug test and the results had to be negative. The Case went to the US Supreme Court. The same court that said it was OK drug test for student athletes, law enforcement officers and public transit employees. It rejected drug test for politicians(6 ). Did they fear what we would find out?
