Zero tolerance = zero sense?

A high school freshman fell asleep in class. The teacher though the youth might be on drugs and sent the student to the school nurse to check his blood pressure. The buy refused and the principle suspended him and refuse to readmit him until the student has a drug test, the student complied (18 ).

"Weapons" related

In Newark Delaware 6 year old Zachary Christie was suspended from school for bring a camping utensil that include a small fold out knife. The district reversed the suspension (19 ).

A ten year old was arrested because his mother packed kitchen knife along with his lunch, a violation of a zero tolerance policy (20 ).

A father told his son about the movie "October Sky", a movie about a rocket scientist. So the son made a rocket out of a potato can for a body, band aids for a fuse, the inside has three matches newspaper and model airplane paint for fuel. The son brought to the rocket to school, 13 year old David Silverstein admits it was a dumb mistake, and apologized. The school still suspended him for 10 days, this suspension was later turned into the remainder of the school year (21 ).
